Has anyone ever been to Dubai?
DH was just asked if he would be willing to do work there for 2 weeks.
Any feedback on it? TIA

DH has been twice. From what I remember, he said it's always under construction, very wealthy, hotel staff workers are incredibly nice and lots of shopping. There's one day, I'll say Friday but I could be wrong, that's a sabbath day so the Westerners are out and about. DH even sent me a picture of the Santa in one of the big malls in Dubai!

My friend went there for work and never came back :) He loves it, sounds exciting, he was always sending me pictures of dune buggying or camel rides and stuff like that. Shopping is big, and its true as the previous poster stated about hotel staff. One day he wanted new socks, and they went out and bought him a pair!!

my company is outfitting alot of the hotels there
alot of the sales men have gone- apparently they aren't too libral as far as women in the work force
but I heard it's amazing

One of my best friends from college lives there with her husband. She LOVES it! I was recently at her wedding (in Jamaica) and met so many people from Dubai who were wonderful. I'm trying to convince DH to go visit her!

I haven't been, but if you are going, don't have sex on the beach. You can go to jail for that....even if the mood strikes you, do it in your hotel room.

One of Dh's coworkers/good friend lives there! It is very wealthy-
He loves it there!
for two weeks---why not...I would go if I had the opportunity!

My cousin lives there!
It's a beautiful place, very progressive, very wealthy.
It's hot though... she is here for the summer when she left there in June it was 125 degreess
