Has anyone ever got a hot stone massage?
I just made an appointment at the Spa for my B-day and I am gonna get one. What is it like?

OMG so relaxing. It is a little weird at first but it take like a nanosecond to relax.

I just got a hot stone massage at Estee Lauder Spa---in the americana mall 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed it but it is not like a typical massage. They use tons of stones and place them on different pressure points all over your body and then proceed to massage you all over with the stones in their hands. The feel very very hot but not where you cant bare it. I personally enjoyed the massage but I think I would go for a "normal" massage next time becuase I enjoy the more deep pressure/tissue massage but that is JMO. ENJOY!!!!

I got one at the Red Mountain Spa in Utah, and one in Hawaii that my SIL (who is a LMT) gave to me. It is the most AMAZING massage and I loved it!

Yes. It is really nice, but I prefer a regular full-body massage to a hot stone one.

I had a pedicure about a month ago where they did that on my legs. It was nice, and very relaxing. I imagine it's even better on your back. They basically just put smooth, heated stones (that are about the size to fit in the palm of your hand) on my legs and kind of massaged my legs with them.

A woman at my job got one recently and she said they take silky smooth stones that have been soaked in oils that smell nice and place them on your body -- massage you with them, then leave them laying on you and you get to lay there with the hot stones on your body and just relax.

Yes. Mine was a deep tissue massage,then towards the end, they put hot stones and massage you with the stones. Then they put more stones and let them sit for a few minutes. I don't know if they are all the same. Very relaxing.

I have had as part of a massage that used a variety of techniques-- to be honest, I always thought, what the hell are stones going to do for me-- and it was quite nice.
