Has anyone ever gotten an LV bag repaired?
My Speedy is in need of repair and I don't know who I am supposed to bring it to and what costs (if any) are involved.
Anyone have any experience?

I have had my wallet repaired and I took it to the Louis Vuitton store and they sent it out. If the item is less then 1 year old they do it for free, if its older there is a charge. I am not sure I would trust anyone but then to fix it.

You can do it at the LV at the Americana; there is a fee but it's a small price to pay to have the repair. They replace/repair handles and all things of that sort. They will check it first to be sure it's authentic if you did NOT buy it there.

Thanks for the info. The bag is LESS than one year old, and I did not buy it at the Americana. I bought it at another LV store (it is 100% authentic). How do I show them that its less than a year old?

if its less then a year you can take it to any LV store and they will look you up in the cpomuter or bring them your receipt.

if its less then a year you can take it to any LV store and they will look you up in the cpomuter or bring them your receipt.
that's what I was going to say. If it was bought in a LV boutique they can look you up in the computer system. I'm not sure if that works if you bought it on eluxury. They should repair it for free, but they send it out so be prepared for it to potentially take a while.
A friend of mine has a great story about LV repairs. Her *dream* bag was a white multicolore speedy, and she found one in decent condition for about $599 on ebay. It was authentic, but a lot of the monograms were rubbing off.  She carried it anyway, and was in the boutique shopping when a friendly SA came over and commented on the bag, how some wear is normal but not that much, and offered to send it in for repairs! They ended up charging her something like $150 or $200 for it  but they decided it was "unfixable" and sent her a brand spankin' new bag. I think they retailed for over $1400 at the time!

I go to a guy for who owns a shoe repair store and he does stuff like this all the time

If you have anyone other than LV repair it, the warranty is void and they will never touch it again. If this doesn't bother you, it's probably a lot faster to go to someone other than LV.

I just wanted to thank everyone for suggesting that I take it to the LV store. It'll take 4 to 6 weeks to come back, but they are repairing it free of charge since its still under warranty!
