I have a mucus cyst on the inside of my lower lip. I read online that they go away on their own- especially with salt water rinses. But mine has not been going away, even with salt water rinses and mouthwash. It said if it was still a problem, discuss it with your dentist. So I emailed my dentist and he said that I should see an oral surgeon about it. I am wondering if this is necessary and what the oral surgeon is going to do about it.

If you have had one, what did you do about? If you waited for it to go away on its own- how long did it take? If you saw a dentist or an oral surgeon, what did they do about it? Any advice?
