Has anyone ever had pants altered, beyond hemming?
I have the opposite problem of most women. I am bigger on top than on the bottom. When I buy suits, the pants are always swimming on me and I end up looking bottom heavy 
Has anyone had pants completely altered? If so, approx how much does it cost?

yes! its great!!
they take up the crotch (by pinning the butt area - so its not like they are all up in the inside of your pants) take in the waist and of course the hem
let me tell you, its like getting a pair of pants customized to you
expect to pay about $30+ but its worth it

i didnt do it w/ a pants suit - i did it with jeans and they altered everything. the brought in the hips, lifted the crotch, reshaped them a bit. they are now my favorite jeans because they fit so well. i think i paid $17. great investment.
