Has anyone ever had to apply cream to the inside of their dog's eyelid?

She had the tumor removed from above her left eye, and now we have to put cream on the inside of her eyelid... which has proven to be quite difficult with the wiggle butt.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

I swear... every day with this dog gets more and more strange Chat Icon

But she's worth it Chat Icon

When Denver had pink eye, we had to put goop in his eye. It was hard! We coaxed him with a treat, one of us held him and the treat, and the other did the medicine. Not fun.

Good luck -- you are doing this for her best interest!

it is a two man job for us... boogie has problems with one of his eyes... right before our wedding one eye came out of his socket... long story short, he needs goop in his eye often and it is awful. In the beginning DH would wear gloves, so he wouldnt bleed---poor baby was nervous and still is, having anyone go near his eye... (ps-he is a little shih tzu-not a big guy- but his bites still hurt!)

Anyway, I would hold boogie down and DH would goop it in, or the other way around...

Thanks for the suggestions! I think we'll be using treats tomorrow!

She's doing well, thanks :) We have to watch for her liver now though, since the chemo is effecting it. Hopefully it'll hold up for more sessions though!

This dog is on 4 medicines though - it's out of control Chat Icon

Pepcid
Prednisone
An antibiotic for her diarreha/vomiting after chemo
And the eye goop.

It's like living with my grandma. I think we're going to need to get her a pill box soon to keep up.

What kind of dog to you have? A pug?

We had to apply eye goop to our pugs ears daily. The only way to do it was to pretty much pin her down with my whole body and then a treat after.
