Re: Has anyone ever put a closet in an existing wall?
Well, if all goes well, this place has 4 closets, but I would want to add another one next to one that is in a wall. I don't know if it is a load bearing wall. And nothing huge or a walk in or anything, just another regular closet because I know we could use it! Aside from getting permission, how long would it take, price, contact, any info like that. Thanks!

We closed up one closet and broke through a wall in another to make one huge closet. It wasn't too bad. But I don't know about getting approvals or anything. ours wasn't load bearing. We are going to extend our closet in our bedroom too. We have a huge room and need a bigger closet.

I'm sure the contractor will know what to do -- in our co-op, you don't need approval for that kind of work but you have to let them know that work is being done for insurance reasons and so they know who is coming and going. We just let the super know...
