Has anyone ever taken a break from BF just to pump/give a bottle......

.....DS is having such a hard time, I don't know if its a latch issue, let down, gas or what, but lately all his does is cry at the end of a feeding, spit up and be upset. DH gives him a bottle of pumped BM once a day and he is fine.....I am just so frustrated and I'm not sure how much longer I can do this. He is 9.5 weeks old, gaining weight well and plenty of wet & poopy diapers. I have tried burping him more, mylicon, different positions....no luck. He is fine in the beginning of the feeding, but by the end he is crying & pulling off. He eats about every 3 hours. Sometimes he will BF very well without crying and spitting up, but I don't know what I'm doing differently.

Chat Icon I would try to feed him a little more upright when he's on the breast. If that doesn't work, i'd def mention something to the doc. Sounds like a bit of refluxChat Icon Chat Icon

There was a little while when DD did that too....but she eventually stopped and only does it once in awhile now. I read that it could be that the milk is coming out too fast or slow(I noticed that DD fussed much more @ one breast then at the other). Or at that age she may just be getting bored towards the end of a feeding. Also babies that age all have some form of reflux due to immature throats or something(the part that opens and closes) but grow out of it soon.
Or maybe you could try burping halfway through...it could be a gas bubble after so much eating. Its soooo sad and frustrating when they do this....Good Luck!!! My DD is 3 1/2 months and hardly does it at all now.
