I have heard much better reviews about the Sterling over the Coral House. I would check LIW and see if girls on there having their weddings can provide reviews!

I have been to 2 parties at Coral House in the last year and both were great. Neither was a wedding. The food was good and there was plenty of it.
I know the Sands in Lido does all inclusive (owned by Coral House).

I was married at the Coral House, we loved the venue and food. That being said, it was before it was sold to the current owners, not sure if anything has changed.
We looked at the Sterling (it was called something else back then), it's ok, but I think the Coral House is nicer.

I know this is dumb but Im divorced and the sands is where I was married lol..so I wouldn't book there...also I am seeing the ex inlaws after 9 years for the first time so that wouldn't want to be the place to do it at lol plus I am sure the people going would make comments and may be weird for my boyfriend.

Not dumb at all. I would be the same way.

Re: has anyone had a party at the coral house or the sterling?
I was at a wedding at Coral House a few years ago, and many of DH's family members have had weddings at The Sterling.
Coral House was great...it's huge, really pretty and the food was really good.
The Sterling has gone through a nice renovation over the years...I can only really comment on their Indian food, as all I've gone there for are Bengali/Indian weddings, but the service is always really good.

Re: has anyone had a party at the coral house or the sterling?
we just went to a wedding at The Sterling and none of my family was impressed with it. The food was blah and the bartenders were rude/slow and just overall unpleasant. They sent out the food at all different times I mean part of our table was done eating before we even got our meals.. Also they only gave salad to the ppl that were sitting in there seats so say u were on the dance floor when they came to ur table then u didn't get any salad.. it was very odd. Also I got up to get a drink n came back n my plate was taken away (10 mins after they gave it to me ) The dessert was the only plus side.. Never been to coral house sorry.

If you don't mind venturing out to western Suffolk, Gemelli's restaurant now does the catering at Bergen Point Golf Club in West Babylon. I can't remember the ad I saw exactly but it was a really reasonable price of an all-inclusive Sweet 16 package.

Re: has anyone had a party at the coral house or the sterling?
My son has gone to several Sweet Sixteens in the last two years. All of them have been at the Coral House. Seems to be a popular choice for many parents to have it there. A friend of mine recently went for a dinner honoring someone there and she said the food was very good.

My Indian wedding ceremony was at the sterling and it was great. We had 450 people and didn't hear any complaints.
I've been to a few events at Coral House and always loved the events there as well.
For your needs I would go with Coral House!

Re: has anyone had a party at the coral house or the sterling?
My DD's christening was at the Coral House w the new owners about 2 years ago. They had just remodeled and it looked beautiful. The food was great and the staff were all very attentive. The only thing I didn't like was that the parking lot was across the street and they didn't have valet. That may have changed though.

You should check out Lambrou's in Island Park. I think they completely redid their party room. I've been to a few engagement parties and christenings there. Food was good enough, nothing to write home about but was not diaspointing either.

They definitely have valet parking now. I drive by all the time and see it. The valets wear red and black.
