Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
I know a late sono (like 7 months..) is alot more difficult to determine the sex..
Usually the "sex" sono is done at 20 weeks though...Ive heard stories of it being wrong..but I dont think its very common...
I had my sono at 20 weeks... and saw it was a boy before she even confirmed it....
When I went back for my 32 weeks sono..I said just double check and make sure he is still a boy...and Im telling you.. I would die if this baby came out a girl...lol
Usually if the sono tech is unsure of herself/himself...they'll tell ya'

Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
I never heard of this happening. My sister's was correct. The first sonogram (at 20 weeks) said girl. Then she had some complications and had another sonogram about 10 weeks later- it was still a girl. When she gave birth- it was DEFINITELY a girl.

I think it's rare now a days, but I'm sure it does happen. We saw that it was a boy on a few of the sonograms we had so we were confident it was correct.

Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
This hasn't happened to anyone I know, but did anyone ever see that episode of a baby story where it did happen?
The couple thought they were having a boy, did the nursery, got all the clothes and when the baby was born it was a girl. Holy moly!

This recently happened to one of DH's colleagues. They thought it was a girl in the sono but it was a boy. They hadn't even thought about boy's names or anything.

Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
We got girl both at 15 and 20 weeks....
they say that IF there is a mistake, it's easier to mistake a girl when it's really a boy than if they see boy and it be a girl.
That would be my luck for ours to come out a boy...

Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
Friends of ours were told that they were going to have a girl at their 20 week sono...at their 30 week sono they were told they made a mistake and indeed they were having a boy her shower was only 2 weeks away and the invites even said they were having a girl...so they had to tell everyone quickly and change all the girlie things and bedding on their registry...they had a beautiful healthy baby boy in May and everything worked out perfectly so mistakes do happen not to often but they do...but in the long run as long as everyone is healthy that is the most important thing of all

Re: Has anyone had a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby
It happened to someone my sister knows. After two boys, they told her the third one was a girl. Well sure enough, it was another boy. They were wrong. It seems rare, but I guess it does happen occasionally.
