Has anyone had problems with Nissan's new intelligent (keyless) ignition????
My car is literally 2 months old! And I cannot get into it at the moment. I don't know if it is the battery or the computer system. After I got the car a friend of mine said she had something similar but I just figured it wouldn't happen to me. Now I don't know what to do. My car is currently around the block because my block had a block party today and I have to leave it on the street in a town where you can't park on the street! Perfect!

is it completely keyless kathleen? i my sisters infiniti (which is the same maker as nissan) has the smart key and if you open up the little alarm pad thing theres a spare key inside that will start the car in case of situations like this. does yours have that feature?

Yes...I have the valet key but I thought that was just to open the door. I don't know if there is a place in the car to put the key

Re: Has anyone had problems with Nissan's new intelligent (keyless) ignition????
I have the Infinity with the keyless ignition. The problem with my car (for the time being - there is a recall) is if my cell phone rings and the keyfob is by the phone the memory in the fob gets wiped out. Here's the solution. You should have gotten a second fob - if you did that one will work. If you didn't get a second fob, use the valet key to open the door. On the driver's side of the console look down by the trunk release - there's a little door. Open it and insert the whole fob. If neither of these work - call the Nissan roadside service. Good Luck!

Re: Has anyone had problems with Nissan's new intelligent (keyless) ignition????
I have a 2008 Nissan Altima. I have a problem with the keyless ignition. I found a solution by accident in getting my car started. On the dashboard near the door, between where the hood release and the trunk release switches, there is a port located there. When you slip your key in there with the keychain side outward, the brake light on the dashboard and starter switch should light up. At that point, you should be able to start your car. I have to do that each time when I need to drive anywhere. Just remember to remove the key, after turning off your car. I hope this helps.
