Has anyone had their dog's DNA tested to find out their breed?
Thinking of doing this for our 2 dogs, but in searching around, I don't know how to tell what legit and what's a scam. Anyone have experience or info? TIA!

Has anyone had their dog's DNA tested to find out their breed?
My sister just did it through PetCO. They wanted to know about one of their dogs. They found out he is a mixture of 4 different types of dogs and we're excited to find out.

Re: Has anyone had their dog's DNA tested to find out their breed?
I got this for my parents years ago when they adopted their dog. I got it at petco and I want to say it was around $75-$100. The breeds that were named definitely seemed to apply, so I don't think it's a scam but who knows.

I did "Wisdom Panel" from Amazon a few years ago. Seemed very accurate and cost about $30.

My parents did it through their vet. I believe it cost her $125.00 and took about a month. It gave a whole report with all different variables of strains that were picked up along with the most dominant strains. It was pretty interesting actually.

My mom just did it through her Vet. She paid about $60.00. They sent a 7 page report, it was pretty cool!

Re: Has anyone had their dog's DNA tested to find out their breed?
I've always wanted to try it, but I'm pretty sure I know what kind of dogs my pups are- even though the shelter was totally wrong. Then again they couldn't identify a chow with a PURPLE tongue.
Anyway, this made me think of this video. Enjoy!
