Has anyone had their floors reinforced/fixed?

Hi, I am not certain what type of contractor to even contact for this. We had a new kitchen installed and ever since the surronding woods fllors have been creeking more and have more movement. I am not sure if it is the weight of the stove or the granite or some other problem. We live in an older home and I am wondering is their any type of contractor I can contact to see if I can have the floor joists underneath reinforced. Any ideas? Any feedback is appreciated.

Yes! I did. I just completed a very large renovation. I gutted a 4000sq foot house. I redid the kitchen and put it a large island with a two inch granite countertop. The island is in the middle of the house which is the weakest point. The countertop weighed about over 1200lbs. So if you add the actual island and consider that during a party you might have a dozen people surrounding it, I got kind of nervous. I had the contractor reinforce the beams from the basement. My contractor consulted with an architect to do the job. I think I paid $2200.
