Has anyone hired the Amish to build an outbuilding or garage?
my husband wants to hire the Amish. he's been reading testimonials to me left and right.
any LIF experience?

CouponKT's parents had their deck built by the Amish I believe. She might be able to tell you a little bit about it.

My DH is former Amish, and I think for the most part, they do outstanding work, if my DH is an example!!! He's very perfectionistic, and has a lot of folks who love his work, his ethics, and call him for odd jobs, when he's not working for his Co. Mary
PS Perhaps I can speak to DH, and ask who he thinks would do great work, for you, that he knows?

My parents did--for a shed, but I don't think they were specifically looking for an Amish-built shed.
They went through a fence place that sold sheds & picked out what they wanted & the store got in touch with the Amish & scheduled the install.
They were happy with the work & finished product.

Ophelia, just spoke to my Husband; He does not know any Amish in your area, but does feel on the whole, they do good work. However, I found this Co. in NY, who use Amish builders from New Holland, Pa. I spoke to Chris, in NY, by phone, and he seems very nice. I will FM other info to you. Mary

My IL's just had one built for their home upstate. They are really happy with it and for what it's worth, FIL is an architect so you know he's picky!

yes, Tracy is correct. My folks are in southern PA about 45 min from Lancaster. Let me know what kind of info you need. They had their deck done in TREXX and they love it! The Amish do quality work for sure!

My brother lived in the same area and had a Trexx deck done too...it was beautiful!!
