Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
I know I have! I know exactly where the floor creaks throughout my house, how to open doors so they don't make noise etc. How about you?

honestly - no way on earth. we do NOT tiptoe around emma... we don't want to make her too sensitive to sound....we talk at night, we live our lives and she is a great sleeper (when she decides she wants to sleep).

Not my DH-he is oblivious and has interrupted many a nap.
He is also not good with the spelling skill.
I'll say, "maybe on the way home we can take Claire to the P-A-R-K"
and he'll say, "well, we might not have enough time to stop at the park"
ETS: sorry for the tangent!

Re: Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
We didn't WANT to have to be more quiet; we wanted DD to be able to handle sleeping through certain levels of noise.
But I have recently found myself yelling at the cats for meowing too loud, and I almost made DH sleep on the couch tonight for sneezing and scaring the baby. Literally, I saw her jump, and then she screwed up her face and SCREAMED. Best laid plans...

LOL - YES! Tristan's usually pretty good, but the last few nights it's nearly impossible to get him into his bed, so he's been sleeping in the living room until it's safe to move him. DH and I are hoarse from whispering!
Doesn't help that the little guy is a Ninja himself - he sleeps with his eyes half open!

Re: Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
He's only 3 months, for all i know it will totally different once he gets older, but for now, he sleeps through anything. We've even vacuumed his bedroom with him asleep in the crib and he didn't wake up. (that wasn't intentional, we're not meanies! DH "forgot" the baby was napping in his crib and didn't realize it until he pushed the vacuum up against the rail and saw him. )

Ditto! DC can sleep anywhere, anytime, with just about any type of noise going on. We intentionally never tiptoed around so they would be used to sleeping with background sounds.
(However, I DID keep the cymbal crashing to only daytime hours..... )

No, DS will sleep though a hurricane, and I love that. I made sure NOT to be quiet around him. I never wanted to be the house that had to stop doing ANYTHING because he was sleeping. He will sleep in his swing with the TV blasting right next to him.

Re: Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
Just to clarify-we are not quiet throughout the house when they are sleeping but when i go into their rooms to check on them either while they sleep or CIO I can't let them hear me. Before I started my ninja training there were times I'd walk into their rooms and the floor creaked and they sat up straight in bed and started crying for me to pick them up!

OT but sometimes my DH and I will be in a group of people and I'll want to say something quietly to him or give him a look and he's say loudly, "WHAT?!" Um yeah-guy I was whispering for a reason

Re: Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
TOTALLY!!!! We initially didn't want the house to be quiet but DD is an ultra light sleeper...DH on the other hand thinks he's walking lightly but really it sounds like Big Foot is going up and down the stairs...

Re: Has anyone learned new levels of Ninja silence since becoming a parent?
Yes! My DH refused to put in carpeting before our DS was born in the baby's room and hallway. Now we have to tiptoe when he's in bed. I know where the creaky spots are!
