Has anyone lost their wedding ring?
I lost mine months ago. I want to get another one for Christmas but was wondering if there's some kind of blessing of the ring or whatnot from our reverend if I get a new ring?
Reverend Deb married us, I know she wouldn't mind, I just don't know if people do this kind of thing when they replace their lost ring.

MY SIL bought a new ring to wear to work only and she brought it to church and the priest blessed it for her, so I'm sure in your case the Rev. who married you could do the same.

I did. a few months after we got married actually.
I replaced with a ring which was also lost (I must add that neither time did I do the losing) and I have been ringless for a few years now.
I am hoping to replace it for our 5 year anni next year and I think I will have my new ring blessed and maybe dh's ring reblessed as well.

That's a nice thought, Jessica. Obviously, our 5 year anni is also next year, we're going to Europe to celebrate. Maybe I should see if I can get something over there.

I lost mine once when I went out to lunch when I worked in the city here. I noticed it was gone, and about 20 minutes later retraced my steps and unbelievably, it was in the middle of the road...no one else had seen it and taken it! How amazing is that.
Dunno if it helps you out, but its a good story.

My dh lost my wedding and engagement ring 6 yrs ago before my son was born. (we were moving and he wanted to hold on to it.) Neither was ever replaced.

where are you going? I would almost definitely wait.
I was ALMOST convinced to be a gorgeous ring on the Ponte Vecchio just a few weeks ago, but the timing just wasn't right.
I have romanticized it in my head and now it MUST be for 5 years.

I know I didn't lose my wedding ring but I almost did... I was so ballistic about it!
I only almost lost that and my engagement ring due to the fact that since March I have lost so much weight I went down three ring sizes.
DH decided to get another set for me only because he didn't want me to get the set I have resized just yet- not until after we had kids.
In the meantime I do want the other set blessed again by our Rabbi..it would make me feel better just in general.

I didn't lose mine, but I bought a second one to wear most of the time (after banging my hand several times and eventually losing a stone  I am kind of klutz) I never thought to have the new one blessed.

I have NO idea. We've never been, so we don't even know what time of year we're going. DH likes the idea of going in the fall, but I'm not so sure. I figured we'd spend the dreary winter researching, reading, and planning. We have a full 2 weeks to spend, so we could cover a lot. France and Italy definitely, but we're open from there. Any suggestions?

And that's why I don't usually wear my ring right now, because I've gained weight. I won't resize either, another 15 pounds and the e-ring will fit me fine.
Is it mean that I wasn't that upset about losing the band? DH picked it out and honestly, I never really liked it that much.

I suggest you head on over to Florence and the Ponte Vecchio  
and the fall is the best. great prices. less tourists, great weather.
2 weeks. Italy and France. ah, the itinerary I would create.....

When we moved last year, I was wrapping up glasses in newspaper and it must have slipped off. I noticed after packing up four boxes so instead of packing those 4 boxes PACKED with wine glasses, platters, etc we marked those boxes with a giant x and made sure to carefully unpack those boxes first. So we move and I unpack those boxes first, carefully taking each piece of newspaper off and flattening it out to make sure I don't throw away my ring. I never found it.... and it was only 4 months after we were married. I told DH it was an omen (I'm a loser like that) and that we would never make... he just rolled his eyes at me lol

Thanks! Florence is def on the list. I did a search on the Travel board and started making a list of places/restaurants. When I start narrowing down, I'll post in Travel and maybe pick your brain a tad...

I lost my engagement ring a couple of months before our 5 yr anniversary. It never occured to me to get the replacement blessed though- it's a lovely idea!

DH lost his in a bar in Jersey watching football during NCAA basketball March Madness.
It was platinum. I wanted to kill him. He ended up wearing the cheap $5 silver one we got on Ebay that we tied to the pillow so our ring bearer wouldnt run away with 2 solid platinum bands on our wedding day. Then when my mom passed away, she had a band she wore that was meant for a man because she had large arthritic knuckles and couldnt wear small rings. My siblings and I felt he should have it as Mom really liked DH. HOWEVER, he doesnt wear it when he plays football or is going to be out in a place where he may lose that one too. So he continues to wear the silver one...
...UNTIL...
...he jammed his finger playing football and now can't fit either one on.
My brother lost his while flinging ashes from a cigarette on the Palisades Parkway in Rockland County.
