Has anyone miscarried naturally before a scheduled D&C? UPDATE: Well THAT was interesting...

OK, so I was supposed to have my D&C yesterday, but as luck would have it , I needed to reschedule it for Tuesday because yep, I came down with the stomach virus (and if you've heard the story of my week on Parenting, then you know that's the perfect icing on my cake) on Thursday; mercifully it was brief.

Anyway, Wednesday I had begun to spot and I thought that was due to some deep probing during the previous day's sono. Spotting turned to bleeding and today I'm out and out cramping AND bleeding pretty heavily. I called my doctor who prescribed me a medication to help things along.

So I guess I was just wondering--for those who have been in this situation, what was the outcome? Did you need the D&C after all, or was the whole thing natural? I'll be seeing the doctor Monday anyway, just hoping for some good news...that I don't need the surgery.

UPDATE: I saw the doctor today and long story short: She basically did the D&C in her office and the surgical procedure is canceled for tomorrow. So, yay, I guess. It was so NOT fun, but I guess it's better than surgery. I'll be going back for blood tests every couple of days until the hormone levels reduce to 0 which hopefully will only take a week or two.

That happened to me, I still went to the dr. as if i was doing the d&c, so when i told the dr. what has happened she said she was just going to check before with an ultrasound just to make sure there wasnt anything in there that needed to come out with a curetage, when she did the ultrasound we saw that i had m/c naturally so ended up not needing the d&c.

Wednesday was my first sonogram, I was already spotting but after the internal sono and cervix check, I started bleeding more and I had pretty bad cramping Wed. and Thursday.....Friday they did another sono and we were going to wait for my Beta results and by Saturday we were going to schedule a D&C if the #'s weren't good. I started passing tissue & clots on my own by Friday late afternoon, I called the doc, and she told me to come in for a D&C Saturday morning. They did a sonogram first yesterday before proceeding, they saw that I didn't pass it all (which I figured since I was still clotting), so I still needed the procedure.

so sorry you had to delay your D&C, I was glad we could have it done sooner than later......once it was completed yesterday I felt that at least now I could attempt to start healing emotionally......feeling as though I was still connected to the baby was really crushing me. sending you my prayers
