Has anyone not seen the news coverage about the child abducted 50 years ago that might have been found?
I can't imagine finding out 50 years later that your child may be out there still...I would imagine after a point all hope is lost...
What an incredible story

I read about it in the Daily News this morning. Apparently the boy was kidnapped in Long Island (East Meadow) in front of a supermarket.
Crazy. It would be something if this really turns out to be him.

I heard about it on News12 this morning. It's quite remarkable. I couldn't imagine growing up to find out that the people I thought were my family had actually kidnapped me when I was 2 y/o.

Reminds me of that movie "Deep End of the Ocean" or something like that.
What I want to know is what were he and his infant sister doing alone outside a supermarket? Strange, right?

I was wondering the same thing but several women I work with told me that it was quite normal for women to leave their strollers & children outside to run inside a store for a minute. And that you couldn't always bring strollers into the stores with you - it wasnt' allowed. Not sure how accurate that is, but it was a different time. I could see that being the case.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing. My grandfather always did the shopping in the family & I was told it started b/c my grandmother didn't want to leave my mother in carriage outside the store, which was the norm,a nd she was born in the late 40s , in Brooklyn. The stores were too small & the carriages too big.

I think it was actually a bakery and not a supermarket, but either way, back then it was not at all uncommon to leave your stroller outside while you did your quick business.
we'll see what the results are. what a wild ride for both families, regardless.

I was reading this in Newsday today. Crazy. I'm interested in seeing what the FBI DNA comes back with. The father seems to think it is him. But wouldn't comment on WHY he thinks so.
