Has anyone read Snow in August?

I decided to give it a try bc I LOVED LOVED LOVED Forever and it has gone down as one of my favorite books. However, Snow in August is making me  I feel like Im a third of the way through it and NOTHING is happening AT ALL.
If you read it, is it really this bad all the way through and I should quit while Im ahead or stick with it bc it gets better?

I felt the same way... Forever is in the top 10 favorite books of all time, but I really don't care for any of his other work.
If you liked Forever, you might like "Time and Again," by Jack Finney. Also a time traveling, New York kind of book.

So its not just me then.........I havent even picked it back up bc its AWFUL which is such a disappointment since Forever was such a fantastic book.
