Has anyone taken Prometrium?

So since i had a m/c e almost 2 years ago, i told my Dr at my first Dr's appt. I was really nervous.

He told me that my progesterone level was 69 which was great, but I said is there anything we can do to help prevent another m/c and he said i can take progesterone so he gave me a prescription. Does it help? He said i should take it until the end of the 1st trimester at least till 13 weeks which is when i m/c last time. Did anyone have to take it internally as a supository (not sure i spelled that right).

If anyone has heard any good stories about this please share!!

im currently on it.

I started at 100mg 1x a day (orally) from days 18-28 of my cycle in january. I did an IUI on day 13 and the dr. is a big believer in prometrium helping implantation.

I got pregnant that month and now in my 6th week. Im still on the prometrium 2x a day, 200mg.

Some dr's dont believe in it..others do. It cant hurt you.

beware though, it makes me very dizzy within a half hour and wears off probably within a half hour. I just stopped taking it during the day at work b/c it made me feel so crappy so i just take it at nite for now so i can sleep through it.

I was on suppositories 4X per day for the first 6.5 weeks of my pregnancy. Then I switched to PIO injections until this past weekend.

I am also taking it. I have had previous miscarriages and i am on both the shots and i take prometrium at night (it makes me really dizzy too so I take it right before bed) Like others said my drs said there is no harm and it can only help..best of luck!
