has anyone taken the baby signs class?
I'm thinking about signing up for the baby signs class and was looking for any feedback. Has anyone taken it, is it worth it? I just want to do something to get out with the little guy especially for the winter.

Re: has anyone taken the baby signs class?
I haven't taken them, but I do use a lot of signs with Ava because I used to work with two little boys who were language delayed, and I signed with them. I mostly use the signs for "more", "eat", "drink" and "all done". I would just rent a video. I'm pretty sure I've seen them in like Hollywood video or something. I think even BJ's sells them.

Re: has anyone taken the baby signs class?
My daughter's daycare has a woman who comes 3 times a week to teach sign in class, and I LOVE IT. Alex now has a vocabulary of about 10 words (food, more, again, milk, pacifier, wash, book, gentle, sleepy, etc.). She uses them regularly and it helps TREMENDOUSLY in reducing temper tantrums because she can literally tell us what she wants, when she wants it. I highly suggest it...

I LOVE hearing this. My cousin's wife told me the same thing and I've started a couple of basic signs with Katie but I really want to get more agressive with it and figure out a way to teach her.

I have two sons (3 and 1) I find that signing is an excellent way to communicate. I HIGHLY reccomend Signing Times videos. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. Check out signingtimes.com

Re: has anyone taken the baby signs class?
I haven't taken a class, but I am a speech pathologist and highly recommend using it. I use it with all my early intervention kids (birth-3) before they are able to use words and it really helps to start communication. It has been amazing to see my own son use sign, he is just 1 and signs "more' and "all done"...which helps during meals to gauge what he wants.
