Has anyone tried this yet? Sally Hansen Nail Effects - UPDATE with review

I got them today in It Girl, a bright pink color, mainly because it promises to last up to 10 days and there is no drying time. If it really works, I might buy more - the kit was $10, which is about what I'd pay for a decent mani.

I will probably apply them tonight, I'll post part one of my review later Chat Icon

**REVIEW**

I am def. not a fan.

Tney only have neon colors and weird patterns. I went with a hot pink that looks MUCH brighter on.

The strips are wider than my nail beds which didn't bother me, because I like my polish to go right up to the cuticle, so I figured I would just trim. However, it's so thin and delicate that you have to be SUPER careful or else you will take off more than you mean to.

It took about 1/2 hour to do and I liked the results very much at first.

(Sorry for crappy pic quality)

As of this morning 4 nails have small chips. I think that could have been avoided if I used a clear topcoat but that knd of defeats the purpose. Chat Icon

I hope that Ulta takes these back even though they've been used. If not, I'll try to get my $$ back from Sally Hansen.

I haven't used the Sally Hansen ones but I have used another kind. I can't think of the name right now but a lady I work with gave me a set. It was pretty easy to put on and once they're on you're set. No drying time. And they last a while. They were great!

eta: I remembered the name. It was Incoco.

Avon used to sell something similar.
Polish strips

I saw these but worried if it would be a PIA to apply- you have to file it down etc?

Let me know how it goes...I'm curious

There are not really too much of a PIA - you can actually tear off the top and then file it. The only thing I noticed is that they make the nailbeds a bit wide so you do have to try and shape them so they fit better.

Thanks for updating.
I suspected they might be a PIA to apply.
Ahhh- too good to be true!

I swear- with all our modern technology you would think that they could come up with a nail polish that doesn't chip.
I feel like all I do is search for a mani that lasts more than a day!

Ulta should take it back with no problem- they are good like that.
I have returned used cosmetics there before

Wow, sorry it didn't work out for you!

I have the fishnet pattern on, and I love it. I've had them on for 5 days and they look pretty good, minus the growing out part.

I type all day long so that might have had something to do with it. Plus, I didn't use my usual top coat which I think would have made a difference, but like I said before I think that defeats the purpose of using these strips. It would have taken me less time to paint my nails and wait for them to dry Chat Icon
