has anyone used the walking assistant? opinions needed.
I was out the other day and letting DD 'walk' around and some guy told me that he used to use a towel. He helds the handles and put the towel under the arms and he said it really helped. It got me to thinking, and I thought that was pretty wise because it's bad on their arms anyways and it would help decrease their fear and dependence on holding your hand. (It will also help with my back!) I think DD would take forever to walk without my hands. ANYWAYS I was at BRU today and they have this harness type support for them. I think I might get it, has anyone ever used it?

Re: has anyone use the walking assistant from BRU?
I have the Juppy, its competing model. It has a harness so the pressure of any weight is on the ****** and armpit, instead of just under the armpit.
Honestly we forget to use it, because he's tall enough for his short mommy to hold his hands comfortable and walk him.
But when I did use it, I think it annoyed him at some point he kept wanting to grab the straps and eat them.

yeah, walking wings! we had them for DD1. They were great b/c she wasn't heavy and only wanted to walk (did it at 10 months 6 days and didn't crawl until months later).

Re: has anyone use the walking assistant from BRU?
we had bought that for DD, and every one of my DSs therapists made me return it, said it is the worst thing for a child.
(DS had 1 speech therapist, 1 OT, 8 ABA therapists and 1 PT)
they said it will do more harm than good, in a sense you are holding them up by their arm pits and basically walking them. they are walking, but when you hold their hands, they are using their own muscles.
hope this makes sense...
i had gotten this and returned it so long ago...
