has previous trust issues affected your current relationship?????????????????????
Because of things that have happened in your past, was it difficult for you to trust again and how did affect your current partner,SO, DH??
Because of my ex husband, I have huge trust issues and they are starting to affect my new relationship. My new guy is great... however there have been times where I have questioned him because I thought things were shady...I can;t help it. I am SO afraid of getting hurt again and being blindsided like I was. I am TRYING really hard but it is so difficult to move on and let my trust guard down..
How do you get past it?

Re: has trust issues ever broken up a relationship of yours...
Yes, I don't have a relationship with my father because I don't trust him...one of the things he did was cheat on my mother, and had another child without any of us knowing...
And, because of that, I sometimes have a hard time trusting people in general...but, it was a little different with my DH...I just felt that I trusted him immediately...which is why I knew he was the one for me.
Don't get me wrong though...in the beginning of our relationship I used to question some things...and he knew why and completely understood.
You'll know when you can trust someone...it'll just happen. Let this new guy know how you feel about trust and that it's very important to you.

unfortunately yes..... And it is extremely difficult to get over. And i was never even cheated on! SO i can only imagine what it is like to get over something like that.
For me, I was open and honest about what happened in my past and honest in how i felt it was affecting me now. SLOWLY those hurt feelings and suspicious thinking goes away. Usually by constant reassurances and understanding by the SO.
I think being open about things is the best way to help your SO to understand and hopefully be patient with you...
