Has your DC been either a ring bearer or flower girl?
So DH's cousin is getting married in October this year. She IM'd me through Facebook last night to see what I thought about DS being ring bearer in their wedding. She thinks it will be cute since DH was the ring bearer in her parent's wedding back in the day.
So, DS will be 3. I am thinking at that age it could either go really well, or go really bad.
Have you had a child who was either a ring bearer or a flower girl at 3 years old? If so, how did it go? Would you have any suggestions on how we could make it a successful trip down the aisle as ring bearer? The thought of DS dressed up in a little tuxedo has me
Thanks!

My ds was a ring bearer at 3. He did awesome!! I do have to mention that my dd was the flowergirl and they walked down together holding hands. So im sure walking down with his sister helped. I dont know how he would have done walking down alone. lol

Re: Has your DC been either a ring bearer or flower girl?
yes - at 2 years old
My dad stayed with him at the back of the church & when it came time to go down the aisle & peeked my head out as he was walking down the aisle...he did run toward the end though
Another thing I did was to change his nap schedule the day before. He was put to bed earlier, woken up earlier & napped earlier right before the church.
Having my parents there was a godsend. They took the kids in their car seats to the Arborteum where pictures were being taken & then to the reception.

Well, the nap thing won't be an issue... DS stopped napping for us a long time ago!
Thanks for the suggestions about placing familiar faces and the grandparents!

Robbie and Noah were part of our wedding. They were not 'ring bearers' - they were .. I dunno.. they walked me up the aisle, stayed at the altar and participated in the ceremony. Robbie was 5 and Noah was 3. They did fantastic. Noah did a lot of peeking around and checking out the scene and he was a little nervous.. but it went really well. Bribery is my only tip. "If you do it and don't freak out I'll make sure you get a special dessert (wedding cake!)"
And yeah.. the tuxes completely killed me. Here's one of No at 3 in his tux:

Re: Has your DC been either a ring bearer or flower girl?
My cousin was the flower girl at my sister's wedding. She had just turned 4. She was fine up until she was ready to walk down the aisle and then she freaked and walked down with me and her brother.
My nephew was the ring bearer at my wedding. He was 4. He did great. He walked down with my niece (she had been in another wedding and knew what to do) and he was great. We didn't really have to promise him anything he loved every minute of it.
