My office has evacuation procedures in place with meet up locations so they know everyone is safe. Oddly my building doesn't have any real security other then the guy sitting in the lobby. I doubt they'll do anything extra because of the bomb scare but I'll find out tomorrow.

Is your company doing anything? What types of things are you thinking should be done?

Not really. We had our bi-annual fire drill spiel on Friday. Our office is above Penn Station so it is considered a target.

I don't work, but DH is a FDNY EMT and he said nothing was different last night (he works the overnight shift) and we will see if anything changes for tonight

No and my office is 2 blocks away. To be honest, I'm not really scared.

Nothing different because of the car bomb.
We have security in the lobby, and keycard entry downstairs and on each individual floors. This has been in place a long time. Any guests have to be registered with the lobby.
We also have evacuation proceedures in place and every one of us has a emergency preparedness kit, which includes googles, hard hat, respirator mask, water, energy bar, flashlight, whistle, first aid kit.
I'm on the 40th floor, so I also keep sneakers and socks, an extra flashlight on a lanyard (hands free - wear it around my neck) and a couple of bandanas.
For any emergency, I am the floor warden. I know where the two fire extinguishers are, where the two fire emergency pulls are, the two fire exits.

If we have to evacuate, our meeting point is Bryant Park. I'll be the one at the bar in my yellow hard hat.

no.. what additional measures would be taken??

most buildings in the city have pretty good security measures these days.. why would this have caused anything to change?
