Hats off to all you elementary teachers!

I just finished up a summer program with kids that are going into 3rd grade. I would have to be locked VERY far away from society if I had to deal with that age group on a daily basis. Chat Icon

Give me my middle-schoolers any day!

You are all very special people!

I (another middle school teacher) 100% agree! You must have boatloads of patience to do this!

The amount of creativity and preparation astounds me. Also hats off to dealing with grade school parents!

Yeah, I give you middle school teachers a lot of credit as well. I have elem. certification, and the three days I subbed in middle school were my hardest days. You deserve Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon too!

I teach high school and can't even imagine elementary school for one day. I'd have NO idea what to do with them. At all.

I'm with you there. My niece is going into first grade, and she can be plenty exhausting on her own. I bow down to anyone with a class full of six year olds. Give me 16 anyday. Chat Icon

High School guidance counselor here - I've always said I would quit the field before I became an elem school guidance counselor.

Agreed!!!!! Although I teach 5th grade--it's a good grade because they're still young enough, but old enough that you can work 'em pretty hard Chat Icon

I agree! I love that my PITAs are gone after 40 minutes. I couldn't imagine having them ALL day! I also wouldn't know how to keep them busy for an entire day, every day!
