Have any of you bought furniture at The Place?
We stopped in today to have a look around and fell in LOVE with a livingroom set that we saw. It was $1399 for the couch AND the loveseat! We would have bought them on the spot, except that we'd then have to have them shipped to NC when we move.
We're going to wait a few weeks until after we've surveyed the furniture outlets in NC, but I just wanted to see if any of you have purchased from there. The saleslady told us that, for $170, we can have a teflon coating applied that's guaranteed to keep the couch stain-free for 10 years!!!

I bought my living room set there. I had absolutely no problems with anything - from purchase to delivery.
I didn't opt to get the Teflon b/c to me, it sounded unnessecary. I read on the card on my couch that it is already treated with a stain-fighter, so I thought that was a little over the top.

yes I love my furniture but it took 6 weeks to deliver something that they said wouldn't take more than 2 weeks. They are also hard to neg. with!

I totally agree - one of my co workers drives to NC every summer to scout out furniture deals.
I would wait until you get there.

That's the plan, actually...just wanted to see if, in the event we don't find anything we like there (and that's QUITE possible, I'm really picky!), we have a backup.

We ordered our bedroom set from them in 2005 & had no problems from negitotations to the delivery!
Now my DH ordered our dining room set at the end of March & it is coming the first week in May. Again, not one problem!!!

I ordered from The Place and I love my set. No problems at all.
But when we move to NC, we are not bringing ANY furniture with us. We are buying all new when we get there. C'mon...NC is the MECCA for furniture!! You're bound to get a better deal down there.

We bought our sectional from the Place and it was the best furniture experience I ever had. I have bought furniture from FurnitureLandSouth in NC before and had the worst experience.
I highly recommend The Place.

I dated the son and he was such a jerk. So was the family. Not that that really has anything to do with the actual business

We ordered a recliner from them a few years ago. We had no issues and it came earlier than they said it would.

my mom had problems with them delivering a armoire months later it was delivered and it was damaged. i've never gone back again

WE ordered our kitchen set and living room set from there. Had no problems at all. Our stuff actually came in earlier than expected.

Me and my DH went looking there and found a sectional that we loved. We HATED the salesman, he was so pushy and rude. We looked around for a better price and found out that they were extremely overpriced. We got the exact same set we wanted plus an additional chair for half the price from Paradise Furniture in Bayside. I would suggest checking them out--they can get most of the stuff that the Place has and you will save ALOT of money.
ETA: We also got our dining room set from Paradise Furniture after seeing it for double the price at one of the stores in Farmingdale (Oak Warehouse, I think).

After looking for months for a dining room set I found it at the place. I didnt think it was overpriced and I got it in a week.
