have any of you heard if this is true??

I read this on a few fertility blogs/IVF clinic blogs..

if the embryo "arrests" before day 3, it usually means the egg was bad. If it 'arrests" after day 3 its usually an issue with the sperm?

I had read that in the first 3 days its the egg's dna that powers the fertilization process. then after that the sperm takes over the rest of the process.

just wondering if anyone's RE had told them this?

I've read that as well. When I asked my RE what they thought was the problem with our embryos, they said they can not definitively say. I will say we had severe MFI and many embryos made it to day 3, but very few made it to day 5...

I never heard that. I have very poor egg quality and both times we did IVF the embryos made it to day 3 but were graded very poor. On the second cycle I pushed them to see if the embryo made it to day 5 and it did but arrested before the transfer. The first cycle was a BFN.

I heard that. My RE said he couldn't necessarily confirm that, but we have 4 perfect embies on day 3. By day 5, all had slowed or arrested, none made it to blasts. And we were dealing with MFI so I believe it.
