Have the flu... need some emotional support here!
Tomorrow will be a week for me.
I am feeling considerably better than when I first started getting sick, but I am still weak, tired, sweaty (woke up 3 times during the night in such a terrible sweat I had to change my clothes each time!) ..... and I've gotten nauseous each day, a few times a day.
I basically feel like I will NEVER get better
So, can someone tell me that this is all normal for the flu and it's OK that I'm still sick!??! I never predicted it would go on this long!! My dr said if haven't seen a drastic improvement by Thursday I'll have to come in for blood work, and that's freaking me out!

I don't know much about the flu, but I'm pretty sure it's typical for it to last about a week to run its course - that's how you know it's something more serious than just a 24 hour bug or food poisoning. I'm glad you're already getting a little better, and I hope you make a FULL recovery soon!

Re: Have the flu... need some emotional support here!
This was me a wk ago. It took almost 2wks to get btr. I even had blood work done to make sure it was ONLY the flu and nothing more.
I can relate entirely. I couldnt do anything, I was in bed all day, had no energy, didnt eat, even drink much all day.
I even went back to work and still came home and crashed in bed cause I felt like sh *t!
Finally by mid wk, I felt SO much better. Just need to let it takes its course, drink lots of fluids( I didnt) and you will get better.
Hope you feel better SOON!
ETA: I also got blood test results and it was nothing more than the flu.

Uggh-I am in the same boat here except I have strp throat on top of it-I am completely miserable. I also have to go back in a few days if my fever doesn't break. I wake up all night in hot/cold sweats, nausea all day, diarrhea (sorry-tmi) all night

Looks like we have the exact same thing!! I can definitely relate to waking up all night in hot/cold sweats, it's AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What does your dr think you have? Mine thinks it's probably swine because I was exposed to it at school where I work
I hope you start feeling better soon!!!!!!!!!!!! Its been almost a week for me, I can't wait to feel better and rejoin society again! I can't remember the last time I was this sick!
