Have to go to Nassau County Traffic Court in Hempstead - Questions
Going to the 16 Cooper Street location next week. Has anyone been to this location for traffic violations?
I had an expired inspection I have to appear for. I got my car inspected the morning after I saw the ticket and I have the receipt.
I wonder if I will be able to get this ticket waived. Anyone have any luck with this in person?
Also this place is right next to the Hempstead LIRR. How is the parking over there? Do I have to pay? What time do you have to get there by in the morning to get a spot? I will be going to work in the morning in Manhattan then coming back to deal with this ticket.
Thanks in advance.

I went there in the Winter.
It wasn't the location next to the Hempstead Train Station though. I'm pretty sure 16 Cooper Street is South of Hempstead Tpke. Its behind where the DMV in Hempstead used to be- if that helps.
There is a huge parking garage there- and you have to pay for Parking (go figure!)
When you get there, you check in, and then get on a line. They will open up the room where everyone goes in. I really don't think it matters what time you get there, because it seemed that they were calling people in random order- not by the order that they arrived.
I got my moving violation pleaded down to a parking violation. It was very easy- and it was proposed to me- I didn't even have to fight for it. Good Luck!

Re: Have to go to Nassau County Traffic Court in Hempstead - Questions
i totally forgot about a ticket and moved - so 7 years later they found me and told me they were going to suspend my license!
So I went there (the one with the big parking garage) - if it's something simple, like you say, just be very honest, humble and nice (the older ADA with mustache is the nice one), explain what happened and they will lessen it. You will hear CRAZY stories sitting there - crazy amounts of tickets/violations for one person.
I just explained that I had moved and forgot about it and just wanted to fix it ASAP and it was reduced to a seatbelt violation ~$50
The earlier you get there, the earlier you will get out - but there is a long line! If you get there a bit later, it's not so bad either.
