Have you been to the Long Island Children's Museum?
How old was DC? Did they enjoy it?
DD is 18 months - is there anything FUN for her to do?

Re: Have you been to the Long Island Children's Museum?
I've been there with my 2 children and my friend's 2 children. The ages at the time ranged from 3 to 11. They had fun.
As far as an 18 month old, they have a toddler room that is for children 3 and under. My understanding is that you get a reservation for a specific time. We didn't use the room, but enjoyed the rest of the museum. It's very hands on....blocks, bubbles, mirrors. Some stuff may not be suitable for the younger ones, but there is plenty to do and have an enjoyable time!
Hope this helps! Twinboys425 was there this past weekend!

I have not been yet. The website has lists of age approriate activities to do there. Other moms have said it is good for toddlers.

Re: Have you been to the Long Island Children's Museum?
We have been going there regularly since DD was 11 months. At first there were only a few things for her - tot spot, bubbles, instruments, but the older she gets the more there is for her. A lot of it is still for older children but at 18 months there is so much for them to do and touch there. I highly recommend it! We have a membership.

I think at 18 mos it is great! We went the first time when DS was maybe 15 mos and they have a special room just for kids this age - he had a great time!
ETA: We have gone on the weekdays and even though they give you a time for the room no one ever really paid attn to us coming or going at a certain time...

Re: Have you been to the Long Island Children's Museum?
We started going when DS was 14-15 months. We got a membership before he turned 18 months (it pays itself in 3 visits). I can just let him be him. He can walk as he please.
They have a toddler section and you need to schedule a time as you get your admission ticket.
They do have a lot of schools coming so it's a hit and miss and it can be crowded even during the week because of the schools. But if you have a membership, you can stay just for a while or longer. If it gets too crowded I leave. I don't worry about the admission. We also live just 15 minutes from there so it's not a big deal.

Kerri was a little over 2 when we went and really a lot of it was over her head. For the $ I think if she was older she would have gotten more out of it.

Re: Have you been to the Long Island Children's Museum?
We went about a month ago. I honestly didn't feel like DD was ready for it. The only place she was able to really play was the toddler room- and there were kids who were much bigger than her in there- so it wasn't that great.
We walked around and saw everything- but I feel it is really more geared towards an older child (ages 3 and up).
