have you ever asked a stranger to use their phone?

Im guilty of this a few times. once at my grad school graduation, My hubby took my phone because I wasnt sure if Id have a pocket to hold it in. who would have known the big trend of everyone wearing a gown with a phone in one ear
so I HAD to ask someone for a phone to see where the heck they were, and to tell them we scooted out a little early

It was my saving grace, Ididnt even have a handbag to call from a public phone, didnt even know where a phone was in the place.

Im sure I have on a few other occassions, but nothing crazy like someone on the train, or a gas station.

the other day I was at a store, and this lady goes "Oh darn, of all days I forget my phone " so I said "here use mine!" and she was so cute. she called her daughter,, and was walking downthe aisle chatting she was asking advice on things to buy. but I thought it was so funny that she made herself totally comfortable and had no sense of urgency to give me back my phone.
it was only 3-4 minutes when it came down to it, but these things "that can happen to anyone" dont bother me at all.

your thoughts ?

If it was an emergency then I'd have no problem. However someone walking up and down the aisle in the food store... Not an emergency

ITA! Kinda nervy, but kinda funny at the same time.

I have never asked to use someones phone before but I have been asked a few times....

I've never asked to use someone's phone, but I did lend mine once. I was on my way home and saw a car accident. I stopped to ask if everyone was okay and there was a woman with a young boy. I gave her my phone to call her husband.

Ive never asked..but I have offered mine on more than one occassion.

Last year when I was pregnant my phone bit it while I was at work. I was on the express bus home from Manhattan and I wanted to call DH because I wanted him to pick me up b/c I was 7 months preggo and it was snowing and icey out. I asked a woman and she said "NO" and I asked a man and he said "NO". Finally, I asked a younger girl and she said yes. I was on the phone with him for 2 seconds

Oh, and I explained I'd only be a second and they STILL said no. I would offer mine.

Once on the train. I had to call DH to tell him there were delays. My phone was dead. The guy in the seat next to me offered his phone.

I have. In Israel I was trying to find someone in the airport, so I had to ask someone to use their phone- TWICE. I just couldn't find my friend.

yes! i lost my cell phone in kohl's one day. i went back to the fitting room and asked the lady who was in the room i had been in if it was in there. i started panicking and asked if anyone had a phone so i could call my husband so that he could start calling my phone so i could find it. she was so sweet and probably saw how panicked i was and i called him. i thanked her profusely! somehow my phone went on vibrate but a different lady heard it while DH was calling!

that woman was so nice to let a stranger use her phone. i would do the same for someone in a similar situation--but it would totally depend on the person and the situation
