Have you ever had your DC's b-day party 2 wks. after their actual b-day?
DS is turning 2 0n April 2nd (I know...I am nuts planning it already but I need to plan ahead b/c DH has to pick his vacation days soon).
Anyway, April is a hard month b/c it is usually still on the colder side. I am having the party at my house this year and cut the list down to 40 I was thinking about having his party the weekend of the 18th and hope that it would be a little warmer that way the kids can go outside and play. I guess they would play outside even if it was on the colder side, but than the parents dont want to stand out their with them
Do you think that's stupid and should just have his party the 1st week of April? Or is having it a couple weeks later ok?
ETA: I remember when I brough DS home from the hospital it was raining/snowing but last year for his 1st b-day I remember not having to wear a jacket
My other dilemma is April is going to be such a busy month...I have a wedding, a bridal shower, Easter and my parents are going away

My son's birthday fell on Mother's Day weekend this year, so we had it the weekend after.

Yes. J's birthday is in mid-Sept & it's a huge to-do because it usually falls near a huge weekend for our whole town so we put it off a week. This year, he desperately wanted a Halloween Costume party & I wasn't going to ask parents to get costumes that early so I pushed it to the beginning of October.
He was thrilled! The day of his birthday we had our immediate family's birthday party. Then he had his classparty with cupcakes. The following week we all went to my mom's house for more cake. Then his friend/classmate's birthday.
It was a like a month of birthday for him. He was beyond thrilled.

A couple of weeks later is fine. Not a big deal at all.
