Have you ever left your cat alone for the weekend?
I was wondering if anyone has left their cat alone, and for how long? My cat is on the shy side and I'm hesitant to kennel her. Any words of advice? Thanks!

Re: Have you ever left your cat alone for the weekend?
We just left our two cats home for the past week while we were in NY. We had my friend come in once a day to feed them.
Back when we had one cat, we'd leave him for the weekend and he'd be fine.

We've left him alone for the weekend many times....we have a water fountain for water and a dry feeder that feeds the food out as he eats it for food. He's been fine....

I have - I leave tons of extra water, a big bowl of dry food and have an automatic two day feeder that keeps dry food fresh.

Re: Have you ever left your cat alone for the weekend?
We've left her alone at max for 4 days without a visit. Usually on a 7 day vacation we'll have someone come in twice to check up on her, or once depending on how early in the day or late at night we are leaving.
I kind of feel bad about it - but I know she's better off home lonely than being stressed in a kennel.

Re: Have you ever left your cat alone for the weekend?
We have left my cat home 3 to 3 and a half days to go away for a long weekend and she was fine by herself.
I leave her a huge bowl of dry food and leave several water bowls spread out around the house... in case she plays in one and spills it! She was fine!

Yes, I have, for a 3 day weekend, once a 4.
I leave an extra litter box in addition to 2 bowls of water and 2 bowls of food.

We have left our cats alone for the weekend. We have an automatic feeder and also have an automatic litter box. When we go away for longer we have someone come in to socialize with them.

My neighbor watches them. Comes in twice a day to feed them, talk to them and has her kids play with them.
I don't expect her to scoop the litter but she does sometimes. I'm really lucky and so are the kitties.
We have left them overnight but never longer without someone around.

Re: Have you ever left your cat alone for the weekend?
we have left our cat for about 2 days before. I got an automatic feeder for her that has 8 sections and you can set it to open up a new section with fresh food as many times a day as you like. And then I just leave out a few bowls of water in case she empties one or spills one. Anything more than that and I have someone come and check on her to give her fresh water and make sure her automatic feeder is rotating properly.
