Have you ever lost a lot of weight, only to put it all back?
I'm finally at the point in my life where I've realized that there's no easy fix for a weight problem.
I did Atkins in H.S. and lost over 70 lbs. Of course, I figured my problem was solved and I went right back to my old way of eating. Before I knew it, I had put back all of the weight, along with an EXTRA 70 lbs!!!
Now that I've been on WW for 8 months, I'm starting to get a feel for what really needs to happen for me to keep this weight off. I know I can lose it, but what scares the crap outta me is actually keeping it off.
Any thoughts or experiences?

Yes I did WW and lost 65lbs. I then put 30 back on and then got pg and I gained 74lbs! My son is 11 months old and I'm just starting to take the weight off now! I am doing WW again b/c I know it works and I know that with some time and effort I can get where I want to be and stay there! Keep a positive attitude and you will get there!

This happens to me ALL the time! I am going to join WW because that seems to be the only thing that has successfully worked for everyone that I talk to and then you end up learning portion control and what is good and bad for your body. I can't wait to join. I am ready to lose my extra lbs!

I def recommend WW b/c it's very easy to stick with. But you have to follow the maintenance program, otherwise you will gain weight back like any other program. I gained back 10 pounds since my wedding (not following the program) and have decided to start back up again. It's a lifelong committment.

yes!!!!!
and now that I'm older, it doesn't come off as easily. I have a very hard time losing weight. I must be the only person that WW did not work for (even though I followed the program to the letter)
I've just recently cut all sugar out of my diet, which includes my morning bagel. However, a couple of times a week, I will treat myself to a whole grain, whole wheat bagel.
(I've lost 5lbs so far)

Re: Have you ever lost a lot of weight, only to put it all back?
I had success with WW and got bold and thought I could do it myself once I hit goal. I stopped going and gained it all back. I have since returned, lost it all again and then some, but know that in order to keep it off I will need to sit in my seat every week indefinetly. After yo-yo dieting from the time I was 17, I have realized it is the only way for me.

Re: Have you ever lost a lot of weight, only to put it all back?
Yes. Twice
1st time: Summer of 1998......I lost close to 60 pounds. I was exercising & eating healthier. I felt great!
By December of 2000, I had gained a tremendous amout of weight . I was at my highest weight ever of 211 pounds.
2nd time: January 2001 I got motivated because of my July 2002 wedding! By following WW STRICTLY & a very rigouros exercise program, by Nov. (11 months) I had shed 50 pounds and was at 160 pounds feeling SO terrific!! I maintained this through my wedding & almost the first year we were married.
Slowly,it crept back on. I have put on probably 35 pounds by now
Currently, I am trying my best eat very healthy almost everyday (cheating occasionally!) and I am back at the gym. I am doing my best with the time & crazy job I have to get healthy.
The other times it was all about how fast I could do it. I am trying not to weigh myself this time. I have a goal of getting healthy & in shape because I want to TTC this summer!!!My clothes are fitting better, so it is working!!
