I would never unless like stated aboved...something was wrong with it.
I was with someone once who wore an outfit to a party and returned it to macys. That is disgusting and think of the poor person that buys this used outfit that thinks it new. Its just not right in my book.

I'll admit it...when I was younger and broke I had to go to a benefit dinner for work. Very fancy schmancy and Colin Powell was hosting and it was black tie.
I went to Macy's bought a beaded top and a long black flowy skirt, tucked in the tags wore it to the dinner and returned it the next day.
I'm not proud of it, but it was a necessary evil at the time.

A lot of people do that. Now, Macy's has these GIANT tags on their fancier stuff, to prevent people from doing that.

Plenty of times - GAP has a 14day wash and wear policy. If you're not happy with the item after washing or wearing it, you get your $ back!

Ulta says you can return makeup if you've tried it and don't like it, so I've returned makeup there that I used once and didn't like or was allergic to.

ooh, i use it all the time! Its weird- some of their jeans shrink a LOT when washed, some don't shrink at all. I have to buy ankle length, and sometimes when washed, they shrink up TOO short.

I returned a pair of shoes once...because the strap broke after only wearing htem for 15 min. I hadn't even gone outside with them yet...luckily it wasn't an issue...the woman at teh counter told me that this particular pair of shoes has been returned alot for the same reason.
on the flip side...I worked at Macy's while I was in College....and the things people return worn are absolutly disgusting.
One time a lady tried to return a pair of underwear...STAINED. I politly asked her to please remove the garment from the counter...She actually got loud causing atrraction to herself and the item that she was attempting to return...so I very quitly told her that I will not and can not touch a worn unwashed item in that condition. She called me a B*tch and said that I was a very rude little girl...the nice woman standing behind her told her "you have no right trying to return that...you should be ashamed of yourself...you're a nasty pig". I was so happy that there was someone there who said what I was thinking but couldn't say.
After she left I spray the counter with cleaner...then helped the next customer.

I never have...but I once went to a very upscale shoe seller and went to try on some shoes and my aunt who i was with said to look at the bottom of them. They were really scuffed up (and not just from people trying them in the store). I assume someone wore them out one night and returned them....i don't know how a store would allow that and then to try and resell them!

wow thats so wrong! i was the manager of a Steve Madden and girls would try to return worn shoes ALL the time!

Nordstrom's return policy is VERY flexible. I would imagine people return shoes that are uncomfortable. They are supposed to send them back though, not resell them!

Yes. Many times...but usually because I decided the item was no good...or clothing wise, because it ended up not fitting properly. Sometimes you don't notice this until after you wear it though.
