Have you had time to read the new evaluation system for NYC DOE next year?

It is like a math equation.......I am waiting for the cheat sheet before I read the legal jargon again!

I attempted to read the 200+ pages but it was just too much. Some of it made me and some of it was . Students evaluating teachers?? Really? I'm sure the 11th graders I failed or wouldn't let go to the bathroom everyday would have wonderful things to say....

I think it leaves a lot up to the administration especially with the informal observations. My school is huge on snapshots and we get between 10-18 a year. I am not happy that there is no limit to the maximum we can get... I know the choice is 6 informal or 1 formal and 3 informal but it my school that would be a vacation compared to what they usually do to us.

Next year is going to be interesting.

Eta: We've been using the Danielson frame work for snapshots for the past year so that we are somewhat used to but from what I've heard it is going to be near impossible to get distinguished in the upcoming year.

Part of the evaluation is a student survey from third grade on. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I can't wait for the students to start saying they are my boss.
