Have you heard of a real estate agent "previewing" a home for a buyer?

DH and I are trying to sell our co-op on our own, and listed on Craigslist, Forsalebyowner.com and LI Families.

Today we got a call from a real estate agent that says he has a couple that might be interested, but he wants to "preview" the home before he brings the couple.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this legit or is he just trying to get in on the sale?

We are trying to avoid paying a broker's fee.

I think the agent wants to see your place. He/she probably hasn't seen your place yet and wants to see it first before he brings his client.

It happens all the time.

When you try to sell a house yourself and advertise FSBO, keep in mind that REA's read those ads and will try to lure you into selling the house with them. They will tell you that they have buyers lined up and try to get you to sign a contract with them. My dad tried to sell a house on his own and the agents flocked to his house trying to get him to list with them.
