Having 2 dental insurance companies?
DH has had CIGNA and had me on his plan since we've been married. Apparently when I started work I took their dental and have been paying for it without realizing it (dumb dumb, I know!), for 3 years and never submitted a claim. I had a cavity last month and CIGNA didn't cover $270 of it. Now that I found out I have personal coverage through Insurance Company X, can I submit to that for payment towards that $270???
I'm not sure how dental insurance works or if you can split it like that, so thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure you can split it like that, but call your dentist... they'll be able to tell you.
We have 2 dental plans for this very reason (I'm covered with DH's benefits, and he's covered with mine - only for dental though).

Re: Having 2 dental insurance companies?
It's coordination of benefits.
We are on each other's plans.
If it's your claim you submit it to the insurance co. They pay what they are supposed to and then can send it to your DH's plan and they pay what they are supposed to.
