Having a VERY hard time finding a paint color we like

We're doing a big paint job as part of the renovation.

I had posted looking for recs last week and did get samples of a few of them, but they were not quite the right color.

We're going with French Tan for our entire attic (it's a finished walk-up), a very pale grey (I think the color is American Grey? Chat Icon ) for the guest room and I'm still on the hunt for something to use in our living room, dining room, stairwell and upstairs hallway.

Everything I got samples of were either too dark or too yellow-toned.

I'm looking for a crisp white with a very very very very faint hint of brown... think milk with just the tiniest bit of coffee thrown in. I just can't seem to find THE color. Navajo white is too yellow, Lenox Tan is too dark... Our LR, DR, stairs and hallway all run into each other, so we want something that will "go" in each area. We're willing to go a shade or 2 darker in the dining room, as there's an arched doorway that separates that room from the stairwell.

Ugh - please help! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

why not find the color in something like a fabric and then have them color match it.

V--- I have a TON of samples that I bought when we painted last month. I'll see if I have any cream-ish ones. Stop by my room tomorrow. We ended up going with Lenox Tan and I love love love it, but I liked the darker ones.

Thanks! I love the Lenox Tan, but it's too dark for where we want it.

I use Mythic Paint, because it's absolutely zero VOC paint (unlike BM's version, which is almost zero).

You don't have to get their paint, but they do have some nice colors to look at. Here is their off-white palette:

You can try BM Carlisle Cream, Jonesboro Cream, Believeable Buff, Whole Wheat or Monroe Bisque.

ETA : Also Porcelain Ivory (or Ivory Porcelain - don't remember which order) and Pittsfield Buff.

Can you ask them to mix in more white to make the Lenox Tan lighter? I think most paint places will do a custom color for you.

I was going to suggest carlisle cream as well, i have pics in my nursery album. Also I like Linen White it's a soft soft cream, not really no brown in it.

BM will color match, check out Valspar Swoosh. It's a nice sandy light beige color. It's in our Family Room. Check out my Family Room pictures to see the color. GL!

I also have Carlisle Cream in our kitchen, LR, DR, hallway & entrance way. nice light beige.

I would actually love to try this stuff but at $53.99 a gallon, that is a bit steep!!

How about Yosemite sand. It looks kinda peachy on the computer but it isn't. Here is the swatch and then here is the picture in my guest room and my mom's kitchen, dining room and hallway upstairs.
