Having first sonogram Wednesday; question!
I'm seven weeks today; we have our first transvaginal sono Wednesday and I can't wait to (hopefully!) hear the heartbeat. Do I need to come with a full belly? As in, drink a lot of fluid beforehand? No one mentioned anything.
So, after this...then we schedule the actual first prenatal visit?

you most likely will be asked to pee before the sono (to empty baldder and give a sample)
as far as the "first" visit, it depends on your doctors office...you can give them a call and ask what will actually be done at your appt this week and then you will have a better idea

When I went to my first prenatal appointment, we had the sonogram there, so it was all at the same time. Are you having your sonogram at a separate place from your OB's office?
At my appointment, I had to pee in a cup before I went in for my sonogram, so I didn't need to have a full bladder for the u/s.

I am having it done in radiology, which is in the same building. I go to Huntington Medical Group. So, the x-ray tech, not the doc will do it. My OB said as soon as she gets the report from that, she'll call me and we'll go from there.

they took my urine before my sono (i was 7w5d) so no, I dont think you need a full bladder. Good luck, its pretty amazing

For me personally I needed to have a full bladder, it didn't work out that way with my horrible morning sickness lol, so they had to do an internal and i nevvvver want that again lol, I rather the external one like with DS lol.
You might want to call and ask them, each place is different! Goodluck!!

I've never had an internal sonogram so I could be wrong but I don't think you need a full bladder for that. They should have told you already if you did.
I'm having my first sono on Dec. 8 and they told me to come in with a full bladder but it won't be an internal. I thought the full bladder was to help them get a better view.
