Having more then 1 child with family watching...
Right now family watches Andrew and we want to start trying again beg of next yr but I feel awful.
I feel like our family will be overwhelmed watching 2 children and then we can't afford daycare for 2 kids.
I can't be a SAHM either.
I was thinking maybe we should wait until Andrew is in school this way it would be easier on our family.
Is anyone else in the same situation?

How about working part-time so it won't be too overwhelming for the family members watching the kids?

We were thinking the same thing so we decided that we will try for our 2nd when Michael is 3.

That is why we thought like that and if MIL is still watching Michael, she will only have to take care of one baby and then walk Michael a few blocks to school.

Yes she does. My friend (who was out babysitter) had another baby in the beginning of May but has had so many complications between herself & the new baby that she had to stop watching Michael for now so since then MIL has been coming to watch him.

I know. It is about time they are doing something for us. FIL brings her to my house and then after Michael gets up from sleeping (since he works midnight - 8) he brings her home.

We are in that situation as well. Although DH doesn't think it's to obad bc each gradnam watches her 2 days and I work from home 1 day. I still think it is alot. I am thinking of putting DD in daycare when the time comes so then it would just be the baby and it will be like school for her. She'll be older so it is a little cheaper too.

Re: Having more then 1 child with family watching...
yes!! Im in that situation except I cant afford to have another child because I cannot afford another 1200 per month of daycare right now and i DONT have any family to watch 1 kid let alone 2. It s#cks.... I most likely am waiting until Bryan is in school so I can put another into daycare.
I cant afford to stay home either. So while I want another financially it is not possible...That G-d Im still relatively young (28) and can afford phsyically to wait.

Re: Having more then 1 child with family watching...
This is exactly the reason why we waited so long to try for #2. We knew that if we had another I could not go back to work or at least not full time. I would feel too bad doing that to the family who watches Michael and I certainly wouldn't want to split the two kids up meaning one goes to one house and the other goes to another (my parents and DH's parents alternate days now). So the plan was to wait until we were able to swing it.

Re: Having more then 1 child with family watching...
My parents watch my boys 2x a week in the summer and my MIL watches them 1x a week. THe other two days we have them in daycare. What about splitting it up like that so you won't need full time day care.

Re: Having more then 1 child with family watching...
Right now my ILs are watching the boys. I had to go back to work earlier than I wanted and I didn't want to put the baby in daycare at 8 weeks. So my MIL said she'd watch him. I offered to send Nate back to the daycare that was going to, but they both said no. (Thank God bc it's saving us some money)
I feel so bad bc at the end of the day they look sooooo tired. Plus they are used to going out and about during the day and now they are pretty much home all day bc of the kids. Luckily it's not for much longer bc my mom is coming from NY the week of July 2nd and then the boys start a new daycare July 9th.

Re: Having more then 1 child with family watching...
I am in the same boat, My mil is going to watch Mikayla....we will not try for another until Mikayla is 3 or so so she should be in some type of pre-school by then...it is very hard...we cannot afford for 2 kids in day care and I cannot be a SAHM either.....so difficult
