He almost burnt the house down
So I let DH handle the 10PM feeding last night so I could go to bed. He's gotten up w/me a couple times but mostly it's all me at night and I've had enough. Something told me "just do it yourself", but I said no, I"m going to let him figure out his way through the night and deal with whatever comes up with a sick, teething DS. So I put in my earplugs and off to sleep (ahh...)
I awake at 12PM smelling "burnt popcorn" or so I thought. After checking on DS and DH (who was asleep in his room) I went back to bed. The smell was still there this morning. Apparently DH left the bottle on the stove and FELL ASLEEP and it melted to the pot - hence the smell. I could have killed him. Funny thing is if it were ME who did this he'd have TOTALLY flipped out. I Love it when he screws up and makes me look good. In 3 months of total sleep deprivation, never have I fallen asleep with something on the stove. Is it wrong that I'm kind of enjoying this, LOL.

Not at all. I love it when they do something wrong cuz then you can get on their case just like they would do to you.

EXACTLY!!! and in his defense - because it was unclear in my original post, he only fell asleep for half an hour, not all night...but STILL...if it were ME I can imagine the fit he would have thrown. LOL - I think I will let him make more of his own mistakes from now on instead of trying to do everything myself...although I'm not sure he's allowed near the stove anytime soon.
