He doesnt Sit STILL
EVER!
My son now likes to rearrange furniture.
He moves every chair, bench and small pice of furniture in the house from one room to the next.
If I go pee, I find the kitchen chairs in the hallway.
I gate him in the living room with the Super yard...we have a great room and cannot really gate it off. I barricade the super yard and he PUSHES the superyard to get where he wants to go.
Hes freaking hercules.
He wants NOTHING. to do with any tv shows, Any toys...anything m even when I play with him.
What am I gonna do when he learns to climb in a few months

True! Jack pushes past the PNP that blocks us into our living room now and crawls into his play room (my office) He has also discovered the kitchen now. He just takes off and has his own little mind now!

Exactly! DS used to throw things from the top of the stairs. pull out his dresser drawers to climb on top of his dresser to grab things off of the shelves or I'd find him on top of the kitchen counter (that was scary!)! Just wait until you give them a lil brother or sister! it gets better! they use them as their guniea pigs! lol

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
Oh jeez. Just wait.
Once the climbing starts he's going to be 10 times worse.
Logan simply cannot be left alone anywhere for any amount of time anymore.
You know the Sing Along Sound Stage?
He scales that by putting his feet on the drum and PULLING himself up by his arms.
He's figured out how to stand on the rungs of his highchair to reach something.
He's figured out how to open the bottom drawer and stand in it to reach something.
He's figured out how to push things on their sides to get on top of them.
It's a nightmare.

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
i feel your pain. we are heading in the same direction over here.
he just started really crawling (not scooting or rolling like before) a few days ago, and already he is starting to grab onto furniture and pull himself up.
just a little while ago i turned my head for ONE SECOND and found him halfway on a low-lying shelf.
god help me when he starts climbing

LOL you are so not alone! my ds will not stop! but he does like toys and books. i have recently gotten him the learning house and he can play for hours with that thing.
my biggest struggle is the highchair, stroller, or carseat. he HATES being kept in 1 place.
hopefully they'll get over it soon!

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
I cannot keep Ethan in his PNP long either. He is on a mission. There is no stopping him. And he only raises himself up to his knees. He is not walking yet. When he is standing up, he started "cruising" a bit. He can actually take steps between furniture and me if I am close enough and he has something to hang on to.

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
OMG....I thought I was the only one. By the end of the day sometimes I feel like crying b/c I am so exhausted from chasing him around. He will only sit and play with a toy for maybe 5 min.
He is opening my cabinets pulling out my pots and pans and tupperware, pulls my books off the shelves, takes all his toys out of the toybox, pushes my chairs and highchair around, climbs up the stairs and anything else he thinks is fun, crawls under the couch, throws things over the baby gates, opens all his dresser drawers and pulls all his clothes out, pulls his clothes out of the hamper, opens the doors....I can go on and on
Everyone says he is a typical boy...I say I am going to start drinking

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
I feel your pain. DD isn't moving chairs to other rooms - but she opens every cabinet she can get open - with some work she can even get into some of the baby proofed ones - so now we have to redo that, she takes all our pots/pans, kitchen supplies (all the dangerous ones are completely out of her reach) etc out and dumps them all over the floor, she pushes our living room chair around since we have hard wood and it moves easily. I have to keep all doors closed or she will get into and try to climb absolutely everything. She won't stay in a play pen, crib etc so I have no way to restrain her to get anything done. The only thing she will for the past few days - sit in is her high chair - and then only with about 5 things on it - but as soon as she is don't knocking them off or throwing them look out. I wanted to get one of those pens like you mentioned but with the hard wood floors she would just push it all over and it would be useless. We have a play room that is completely babyproofed with carpet and all - it just has her toys, tv, and computer in it - that is the only room I feel comfortable with her moving freely in. Oh and she is constantly go after our 2 cats, thank god they like her and are still quick on their feet.

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
Cailen has been nonstop ever since he began crawling... He is beginning to climb all over the place too!!!
I find when I am with him though, playing with him - any type of repetitive and silly action will keep him in one place - like a helium balloon - letting it go and saying "oops!"
Revving up cars and pushing them - they usually get the car and bring it back to you to do again....
I build blocks, and he has to come over and crash them down...
Anything that requires crashing, bumping, or knocking things down usually keeps him within arm reach - oh, and balls!!!!

He has already done ALL of the above
And let me add uses his two drum sets to climb on top of as well.

Re: He doesnt Sit STILL
I am smiling reading this bc I have 3 small kids - I literally go in circles all day long. I could have written your post when I had just my oldest and he around that age. Everytime I see a baby in the 6-9 month range I always say "I love that age!!" - I just said it someone today. before they are mobile Hang in there!
