He had his secretary e-maill? Is this strange?
Would you find it strange if your sibling had his/her secretary e-mail you about sibling coming to visit?
DH is graduating from his MBA program next month and his brother's secretary e-mailed him asking for the date of the graduation because BIL wants to attend.
Can someone tell me why BIL wouldn't just call DH and say "hey I wanna come to your graduation. When is it?"
I guess he wants us to know how well he is doing in his fancy job...

Re: He had his secretary e-maill? Is this strange?
he probably wants her to make arrangements for him, so she might have decided herself to email your dh.
having been an exec secretary, that's nothing, some of these guys can't get it together to do anything themselves.

On BIL's behalf? Nahh, he has an MBA from a school equally as good as the DH went to.
But he is all about showing off.

I guess I was surprised because he JUST spoke to his brother on the phone this past weekend. They e-mail often. I guess he was too busy.

My friend was an Executive Assistant and had to email the guy's wife to tell her what he wanted for dinner. After that, nothing phases me.

I was an exec. asst too & this would fall into a normal "duty", along w/ buying his wife (and girlfriend) flowers, booking personal travel and booking weekend tee times w/ his brother.

Ditto on my end ... along with picking up dry cleaning, buying birthday and anniversary presents, ordering personal checks and attending school functions for their children. (And the list goes on and on and on ...)

Re: He had his secretary e-maill? Is this strange?
I have asked secretaries to do anything they could do more quickly than I would. If I know that someone would keep me on the phone forever, but they would not keep my secretary, I might have her do it. It sounds rude but it is one of the few forms of time management I have sometimes.

A lot of times executive's secretaries know their schedule better than THEY do..

Re: He had his secretary e-maill? Is this strange?
not really.... maybe he needed to book that weekend for work and just wanted to confirm that it was a weekend he could come or re-scheulde the other commitment.
it is a little odd...but maybe he just had to get his secretary to get something else on the calendar.

Re: He had his secretary e-maill? Is this strange?
FIL has his assistant call us, e mail us his travel plans, she even buys presents for the baby from him...its totally normal..I dont think he goes to the bathroom without informing her, she handles his schedule, its just more organized that way. I wouldnt take it as him showing off
