Headphones for a toddler?

I was going to get a portable DVD player and let my 2 1/2 year old watch a show on the plane down to Disney. I was looking for smaller headphones for a toddler but then I got to thinking that maybe she shouldn't be wearing headphones at this age anyway....

Is it bad for her? If not- do you know where I could get smaller (good quality) headphones?

I don't know about small headphones - but I know when I went to Disney, everyone was playing the sound from the DVD player itself, including us.

I didn't even think to look for headphones, cause I know DD would never leave them on.

I wouldn't do it, and definitely not the earbuds (even though they most likely wouldn't fit her anyway).

I see way too many high school students with permanent hearing loss due to the use of small headphones/ear buds.

I used the big ones on Jake. They were far more comfortable for him (they basically covered the entire ear) so he left them on. The foamy cheapie ones would have never worked and neither would ear buds. I made sure the volume was low.

You could hear the sound OK without disturbing others on the plane? I'd rather do this but thought it would annoy people.....

I just remembered - and wanted to add that when he smaller, we would give him the PSP with no head phones and yes, it was quiet enough to not disturb others on the plane.

My fear is that since the plane is so loud it would be hard to keep the volume low on the headphones...were you guys on a plane? Did you use the ones that come on the plane or just your own adult headphones?

Re: Headphones for a toddler?

My mom is convinced that she is buying BOSE headphones for DD....

The whole family has them, and she wants the baby to be as comfortable as the rest of us....

MY son would watch a movie with no sound, I would try that. I can't see keeping headphones on a 2 year old
