Re: health ins thru the state

There are a lot of State programs. Is this for you or your children?

Re: health ins thru the state

Well it's all dependent upon your income. My kids both have CHP and Emma has been on it since the month after she was born. I don't know why they told you they can't be on it under a year old. I would reapply for CHP and put your p/t income down. If it's less than the guideline for CHP they will make you apply for medicaid. If it's over the maximum income for CHP, they will make you pay the full premium, but I believe it only amounts to around $40 per month now for the full premium.

Well, without knowing your income, it was probably an income related thing. I think if it's under a certain amount, they are on medicaid for a year then go to CHP. The guidelines for under a year old are high than for over a year old.

I don't have insurance through the state for myself.

OH and CHP is the best insurance ever. No co-pays, they pay for dental and vision. The premiums are so much less than what most would pay through an employer so I really recommend it for everyone. Like I said before, if you are over the income limit, you just pay their monthly premium which is at a discounted rate.

Re: health ins thru the state

DD was on CHP prior to turning one so Id definately call again. It may be because of your income amounts though...
