Health Insurance
Is there really such insurance out there that is for unemployed mother and child? I have been doing soo much research online, and not finding anything that is actually affordable. I had it made when I was working. But then I was laid off when I was 6 months pregnent. My DS is now 3 months old, and we are struggling sooo much. I went under DHs health insurance at his job, but it's well over 250 a WEEK It's gotten to the point that all our bills are backed up by at least a month or so b/c it's just too much money!! I am looking for a FT job, but NOTHING is out there close to what I was making...so I'm still claiming unemployement. DH is working 2 jobs, and ends are STILL not meeting. So, is there REALLY such an insruance that we won't have to pay 900+ a month for?? Or, should I just take it as we might just have to move out of our house and move in with our parents until I DO find a well paying job again... Please help....
ETA: I am looking for just DS and myslef. DH will stay under his insurance since his boss pays part of ONLY his portion...

Re: Health Insurance
Family Health plus, I think. But your DH would have to make under a certain amount of $. I think you pay according to your income.

Re: Health Insurance
Thanks!! I was seeing on their website that it's for Nassua and NYC only... (child health plus.com LOL) so DH was going to find out for sure for me tomorrow since he does the printing for them LOL.
Do you think it's ONLY his income..? Is my unemployement really considered an income??

Re: Health Insurance
Here are the income requirements for family health plus: http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/fhplus/who_can_join.htm#familysize2
This is for Child health plus(kids only) http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/chplus/who_is_eligible.htm
It says if you make too much to qualify check this out http://www.ins.state.ny.us/website2/hny/english/hny.htm
Because healthcare is offered through DH's job, you "may" not qualify, not totally sure
