Health insurance
Does anyone know if there are actually affordable plans available? Planning to leave my employer and cobra is going to cost me $1800/month. I can't get any information from any of these websites about actual cost or a ball park figure. I need coverage for spouse and children and would pay separate plans if it's more affordable that way...

Re: Health insurance
I know you said "planning to leave" but if there is a chance you might be laid off COBRA is being 100% subsidized by the government until the fall as part of the bill that was just signed.

Thank you but there is zero chance of being laid off. I'd be leaving voluntarily...

Does your DH have the option of benefits from his job? This is considered a qualifying life event so you could select his insurance.

Yes but it's going to be just as expensive if not more so I am just trying to figure out all the financials before I make my decision. It's a tough decision because I have very good benefits but the job itself is very rough and started to take an emotional and physical toll on me...

Re: Health insurance
Honestly - it’s a shit show
See if there is any way to get child health plus for the kids through NY state and get your own plan for you and DH or even separately.
We pay $1800 a month for just DH and I for an OK health insurance. We pay that to have the least ded ($1,000 ) and low co pays ($15 & $35) you can have higher ded and higher copays and pay a little less. You can go on the exchange and plug #s in. You can also speak to a rep there for further help.
But there’s really no good options these days.

You're not kidding! Right now I pay under 300 a month for a family plan. I think I'm kind of stuck now
